    Destinations

The option to check in online, from a phone and at a kiosk, and to use a self–printed and mobile boarding pass, is available when you travel:

    • Within Scandinavia and Finland
    • From Scandinavia and Finland to Europe, Asia and the US

    Boarding pass

SAS offers plenty of options for your boarding pass. Sometimes you do not even need one.

    • On flights from Scandinavia operated by SAS, in many cases you can use your EuroBonus card or bank card as an electronic ticket. When you have your booking registered on a card and you have checked in, the card serves as a boarding pass. You use the selected card at security, for duty-free shopping, in the lounge and when boarding.

    • If you are linked to SAS Smart Pass you do not need a boarding pass.

    • On certain trips you need a printed or mobile boarding pass.
    • You need a printed or mobile boarding pass when:
      • You travel using your booking confirmation.
      • More than one of you has the trip downloaded on the same pass. In that case, each traveler requires a personal boarding pass.
      • Trip/return leg commences outside Scandinavia.
      • Your trip continues on another airline.
      • You are traveling to Great Britain and other countries which do not belong to the Schengen Area.

    • You can choose from three ways to obtain your boarding pass:
      • Download a mobile boarding pass
When you check in using the SAS App, text messaging or via sas.se on your mobile, you can download a mobile boarding pass to your phone.

      • Printing out a boarding pass from SAS website
A boarding pass can be printed out in black/white or color, but the bar code must always be legible. The printed boarding pass is personal and may contain up to four flight legs.

      • Printing out at the airport
You can easily print out your boarding pass in a SAS Self Service kiosk.

    Mobile boarding pass

Travel paperless – your entire trip. With a mobile boarding pass, all you need is your phone.

    • You can get a mobile boarding pass on your phone when you check in using the SAS App, text messaging or at sas.se.

    • You show your mobile boarding pass at security, in duty–free stores, when visiting an SAS Lounge and at the gate.
    • A mobile boarding pass can include up to four flight legs and can be used on the following flights:
      • Within Scandinavia and Finland
      • From Scandinavia and Finland to Europe, Asia and the US
      • To Scandinavia from applicable destinations

    • Enter your mobile phone number in your booking and we will send you a text message 22 hours before your flight departs. You will be given two options in the text message:
      • Click on the link to go to SAS website. You can choose your seat, check in and download your mobile boarding pass.
      • Answer “yes” to the text message to check in automatically. You will receive a new text message as a confirmation. Click on the link in the confirmation so you can view your mobile boarding pass.

    • We will send one text message per booking (valid for bookings which include up to six people). The person who receives the text message with the check-in link can forward it to the other travelers included in the booking.

    • If you have forgotten to give your mobile phone number when booking, you can always get your mobile boarding pass by visiting sas.se on your phone.

    • If you check in using the SAS App, you will receive your boarding pass in the App.

    • If you have a problem in producing your mobile boarding pass at the airport, you can always print out a new boarding pass at an SAS Self Service kiosk or at a Check-in counter

    • If you are traveling with baggage, you need to register your mobile boarding pass at an SAS Self Service kiosk at the airport to print out your baggage tags.

    Boarding

When it is time to board, your trip will finally start. Please arrive at the gate in plenty of time.

    • For domestic flights or flights within Europe, boarding commences no later than 20 minutes before departure. For trips to/from destinations outside Europe, boarding commences about 40 minutes before departure.

    • Make sure to give yourself plenty of time. See our check-in deadlines.

    • If your trip is linked to a card and you are traveling without a boarding pass, slide the card through the card reader at the gate and get a receipt with your seat location. (This is available for trips from Scandinavia).

    • PRIORITY BOARDING: If you are a EuroBonus member at the Diamond or Gold level or you have Gold Status within Star Alliance, you have priority boarding privileges. This also applies for passengers traveling in SAS Business or SAS Plus.
